Screw Extractors and Accessories

ENGINEER extractors for damaged screw heads

When a screw head has become rounded, has broken off or is full of rust, an ordinary screwdriver has nothing left to grip. Extractors have specially shaped tips that bite into the remaining material and allow the screw to be turned out. The category is part of the hand tools section at Sanco Grup.
There are 36 products, mostly ENGINEER (Japan), made from carbon steel, plus Rennsteig tools. The range covers extractor bits by size, impact handles, extensions, flexible adapters and complete kits.

What the category contains

Extractor bits for hex socket screws, DBZ-3xx series

Short 18 mm bits, with a fine-pitch spiral tip that grips the hex socket without slipping. You press and twist, without hammering. Available by hex size: DBZ-310 (0.89 mm), DBZ-315 (1.5 mm), DBZ-320 (2 mm), DBZ-325 (2.5 mm), DBZ-330 (3 mm), DBZ-340 (4 mm) and DBZ-350 (5 mm). The 18 mm length makes them useful in very tight spaces.

Rapid extractors and bit sets

The DBZ-60G rapid extractor, with a long bit designed for hammer impact, and the DBZ-20 set of 4 chrome-plated extractor bits, for screws with a worn head.

Ratchet extractors

The DR-27 ratchet extractor, supplied with 2 short extractor bits, and the DZ-273 set, with a ratchet and 7 short bits, for work in tight spaces.

Impact handles

The DZ-70 through-shaft screwdriver handle, which withstands hammer blows and transmits the shock directly to the tip, plus the sets that include it: DZ-70 with 4 extractor bits DBZ-62, 63, 64 and 65, DZ-71 with the DBZ-51 bit, DZ-72 with a chrome-plated PH2 bit for damaged Phillips screws and DZ-85 with 4 bits, for tight and deep spaces.

Professional kit

The ENGINEER PDS-01 kit, with 9 pieces in a rigid carrying case, for complete interventions on damaged screws.

Extensions and adapters

Universal extensions for standard bits and extractors: DR-22 (100 mm), DR-23 (150 mm) and DR-24 (190 mm). Flexible 15° magnetic adapters, for hard-to-reach areas: DR-25 (100 mm, standard bits) and DR-26 (88 mm, short bits).

Accessories

The DR-95 MAG STRAP magnetic strap, which keeps screws, bits and metal parts at hand during work. See also the magnetic pick-up tools.

Professional Rennsteig tools

Center punches and an automatic center punch, a hollow punch and demolition bars, of German quality. The punches are useful right before extraction, for precise marking of the drilling point. See also the Rennsteig chisels and punches.

How to choose the right extractor

By head type

For hex socket screws with a rounded socket, the DBZ-3xx bits in the matching size. For a damaged Phillips head, the DZ-72 set. For a completely destroyed head, the DBZ-60G rapid extractor, with impact.

By available space

The short 18 mm bits and the DR-27 ratchet extractor are designed for confined places; for deep screws, add a DR-22, DR-23 or DR-24 extension.

When the angle does not allow straight access

The DR-25 and DR-26 flexible adapters allow the screw to be approached at 15°, with magnetic bit retention.

If the screw is seized by rust

Apply a rust remover first and let it work, then use the extractor. See the rust removers.

Main features

Fine-pitch spiral tip

Bites into the material left in the head and provides grip, even on rounded surfaces.

Extraction without hammering

With the DBZ-3xx bits it is enough to press and twist, which protects the part the screw is fitted into.

Short 18 mm construction

The reduced bit length allows work where an ordinary screwdriver does not fit.

Carbon steel

A hard material, resistant to the high stresses that arise when forcing a screw out.

Modular system

The bits, handles, extensions and adapters combine with each other, so the kit can be extended gradually.

Magnetic retention

The adapters and the magnetic strap prevent losing the bit or the screw during work.

Recommended applications

Mechanical and auto repairs

Rusted, seized or rounded-head screws in metal assemblies.

Electronics and fine mechanics

Miniature hex socket screws, from 0.89 mm, in devices and equipment.

Industrial maintenance

Fast interventions on machinery, where full disassembly is not an option.

DIY and home repairs

Damaged screws in furniture, appliances and installations. See also the ENGINEER extractor pliers.
