The ENGINEER PA-24 is a high-precision micro connector crimping tool that turns connector crimping into a simple, repeatable, professional-quality operation. Its precision dies produce a uniform crimp shape and a clean finish, without crushing or deforming the contacts.
The tool is specialised for the open barrel contacts of 2.5 mm-pitch connectors from a range of makers, working with the JST XH, PH, EH and NH series, Molex Micro-Fit, the KK series and many more, on conductors from AWG #32 to #18. In total, the PA-24 covers over 170 different terminals. Thanks to the die geometry, it neatly curls the triangular lugs of DuPont (Servo) and Molex C-Grid III connectors without damaging the insulation.
The 6 dies are built into a single tool: four "m"-shaped dies, 1.3, 1.6, 1.9 and 2.2 mm wide, for crimping the conductor barrel, plus two round dies, φ1.4 and φ1.8 mm, that wrap the lugs around the insulation. The pliers also include a screw cutter that trims small M2, M2.6 and M3 screws to length — handy in assembly and repair work.
The tapered, slender jaws give good access to connectors, while the 115 g weight reduces fatigue during repeated use. How to select the crimping die
- Measure the width of the conductor or insulation barrel lugs with a caliper, keeping the terminal jaws parallel.
- Select the die whose width is closest to the measured value. Example: 1.5 mm measured → choose the 1.6 mm die.
- Crimp the conductor barrel first — it is best to offset the rear edge 0.1–0.2 mm from the die. Then crimp the insulation barrel.
