The pliers are fixed to the cross section of the conductor using the knurled screw (the drive wheel is serrated), so that only the insulation is cut without damaging the conductor. The knurled screw is secured with the inserted lock nut to maintain precise adjustment even over longer working periods.

The Knipex 11 01 160 insulation strippers are forged from special tool steel and hardened in oil.

The opening spring places the pliers easily in the user's hand, thus substantially reducing the strain on the hand muscles when holding the pliers tightly.
