ENGINEER DBZ-340 is an ultra-short extractor bit for removing screws with a damaged 4.0 mm hex socket. Its specially designed tip bites firmly into the rounded socket and allows the screw to be removed without hammering, by applying pressure and turning in the loosening direction.
At only 18 mm overall length, DBZ-340 is designed for confined spaces. Its standard 6.35 mm hex shank fits compatible tools and accessories; ENGINEER recommends DR-27 for restricted spaces and DR-26 or DR-28 for difficult-to-reach areas.

Main features

For damaged 4.0 mm hex sockets

DBZ-340 is sized for screws with a 4.0 mm across-flats hex socket. The 4 mm value refers to the screw socket, not the bit shank.

Removal without hammering

The newly designed tip bites into the damaged hex socket and allows removal by pressing and turning without a hammering operation.

Ultra-short bit for confined spaces

Its 18 mm overall length provides access where a conventional longer extractor or bit is difficult to use.

Compatible with ENGINEER accessories

It can be used with the DR-27 mini ratchet and attached to DR-26 or DR-28 bit holders/adapters for difficult-to-reach areas.

ENGINEER lists field repair, automotive, motorcycle, bicycle maintenance and DIY work, particularly in confined spaces.

Usage note

DBZ-340 is intended for lightly damaged screws. Press the extractor firmly into the socket and turn in the loosening direction. For other screw-head types, the manufacturer also describes a pilot-hole technique using the appropriate extractor size.
