The KNIPEX Electronic Super Knips 78 61 125 precision cutter is the optical-fibre version of the renowned Super Knips, designed for cutting optical fibre cables, fine wires, and for electronics and precision mechanics. The ground, very sharp edges without bevel allow a clean, flush cut, and the fine tips separate conductors as fine as Ø 0.2 mm, even when they are adjacent.
Unlike the standard model, the edges of this version are additionally induction-hardened to a high hardness of about 64 HRC, for a long service life and a very precise cut even of the finest wires. It cuts soft copper wire from Ø 0.2 up to 1.6 mm and medium-hard wire up to Ø 1.2 mm.
The controlled micro-alignment shearing mechanism ensures a consistent cut over time. The joint, with a stainless steel rivet, is play-free, and the opening spring with limiter opens the cutter automatically after each cut. The low weight and frictionless torsion spring provide fine force control.
The blades are made of special tool steel, oil-quenched in several stages, and the multi-component (two-component) handles provide a comfortable grip. The cutter meets the DIN ISO 9654 standard.
