The KNIPEX Cobra 87 01 180 adjustable pliers for installers is a high-tech water pump (tongue-and-groove) plier, 180 mm long, with a self-locking device. Its compact format makes it ideal for work in tight spaces and for carrying permanently in a pocket or kit. Adjustment is made directly on the workpiece, at the touch of a button: you position the upper jaw on the piece, press the button and close the lower jaw. Ingeniously simple! It is made in Germany.

The self-locking on pipes and nuts prevents it from slipping off the workpiece and requires less hand force. The teeth set against the direction of rotation, with gripping surfaces hardened by a special process (hardness approx. 61 HRC), provide a secure, lasting grip with high wear resistance. Fine adjustment allows optimal adaptation to different sizes, with a comfortable handle.

The perforated box-joint ensures high stability thanks to the double guide, and the secure latching of the hinge bolt prevents accidental change of the setting. The clamp guard prevents injuries caused by pinching the fingers.

The body is made of chrome-vanadium alloy steel, forged and multi-stage oil-hardened, with a polished head. It grips pipes up to 1½ inch (42 mm) and nuts up to 35 mm. The handles have red non-slip plastic grips. Length 180 mm, weight just 170 g. The smallest and lightest pocket adjustable plier in the classic Cobra range, ideal for installations, assembly, maintenance and service in tight spaces. How it works

Position the upper jaw on the pipe or nut, press the adjustment button and push the lower jaw until it closes on the piece. The teeth set against the direction of rotation self-lock and prevent slipping, so you tighten and loosen with minimal effort. The pliers stay set at the chosen size, with no unintentional changes.
