Industrial Heat-Shrink Tubes

DYMO ID1 heat-shrink tubes for cable identification and protection

Heat-shrink tube labels are polyolefin tubes applied to cables and wires, with a dual role: identification and protection. They are not self-adhesive; instead, they shrink onto the cable when heat is applied, providing a permanent fit and durable marking in industrial and electrical environments.
The text is printed by thermal transfer, with no ink or toner, and will not smudge, discolor or fade. The tubes are available in 6, 9, 12, 19 and 24 mm widths, in 1.5 m rolls, with a 3:1 shrink ratio, and work with DYMO Rhino industrial printers.
The category includes both original DYMO tubes and more affordable compatible options, in black on white and black on yellow.

How heat-shrink tubes work

  1. Print the tube with the DYMO machine and cut the required length.
  2. Slide the tube onto the cable or wire before connection (they cannot be fitted after the ends are connected).
  3. Position the tube where you want it on the cable.
  4. Apply hot air (with a heat gun), evenly, until the tube shrinks completely.
  5. The tube shrinks at a 3:1 ratio and fixes permanently onto the cable, protecting and marking the conductor.

Printer compatibility

DYMO ID1 tubes are printed with DYMO industrial machines:
  • Dymo Rhino 4200, 5200, 6000 and 6000+
  • DYMO LabelManager 500TS
  • DYMO LabelWriter 400 Duo and 450 Duo
Note: compatible tubes work with the Rhino 4200, 5200 and 6000, but not with the Rhino 6000+, which only accepts original DYMO consumables.

Types and available options

Original DYMO tubes

Original DYMO Rhino ID1 tubes (for example 18052-18058), with consistent quality and guaranteed compatibility, including with the Rhino 6000+.

More affordable compatible tubes

Compatible alternatives with the same sizes, at a more accessible price (compatible with the Rhino 4200/5200/6000).

Black on white

For general cable identification, in telecommunications, networks and fiber optics.

Black on yellow

For warning and highlighting, in electrical panels and risk zones.

Sizes

Widths of 6, 9, 12, 19 and 24 mm, in 1.5 m rolls.

Standards and resistance

The tubes are made of flame-retardant polyolefin, with a 3:1 shrink ratio, resistant to temperatures between -55°C and +135°C. They are tested to SAE, ASTM and military standards (MIL-M-81531, MIL-STD-202G, SAE-DTL-23053/5), UL 224 recognized, RoHS compliant and meet OSHA, ANSI and ISO color standards. They resist moisture, oils, chemicals, abrasion and UV.

How to choose the right tube

Choose the tube diameter to match the diameter of the cable or wire (including insulation) to be labeled. After shrinking, the tube contracts to about one third of its initial diameter (3:1 ratio), so it must cover the cable before heat is applied and grip firmly afterward. For thin wires choose 6-9 mm, for everyday cables 12-19 mm, and for thick cables or bundles 24 mm.

Recommended applications

Electrical cables and wires

Permanent, clear marking of cables in electrical panels and complex networks.

Electrical panels and automation

Identifying wires in automation systems, machinery and control boards.

Data centers and networks

Labeling connections in servers, racks and IT infrastructure.

Telecommunications and fiber optics

Identifying telecommunications runs and fiber optics.

Security and audio-video systems

Marking wiring in security, surveillance and Pro AV systems.

Automotive, rail and maintenance

Tracing and organizing wires in vehicle electrical systems and re-labeling work.

Heat-shrink tube labels from Sanco Grup are DYMO Rhino ID1 polyolefin tubes, 6, 9, 12, 19 and 24 mm wide, in 1.5 m rolls, with a 3:1 shrink ratio, in black on white and black on yellow. Printed with DYMO Rhino, LabelManager 500TS and LabelWriter 400/450 Duo machines, they shrink permanently onto the cable when heated, with a dual role of identification and protection. Resistant to -55°C…+135°C, moisture, oils, chemicals and abrasion, tested to SAE, ASTM and military standards. Available in original DYMO and compatible versions.

Frequently asked questions

What are heat-shrink tubes?

They are polyolefin tubes that shrink onto the cable when heat is applied, with a dual role of identifying and protecting wires and cables.

Do they stick to the cable?

No. They are not self-adhesive; they fix by heat shrinking, providing a permanent grip.

How are they applied?

They are slid onto the cable before connection, positioned, then heated until the tube shrinks completely.

What shrink ratio do they have?

A 3:1 ratio, meaning the tube shrinks to about one third of its initial diameter.

What widths and lengths are there?

Widths of 6, 9, 12, 19 and 24 mm, in 1.5 m rolls.

What colors are available?

Black on white and black on yellow.

What temperatures do they withstand?

They withstand temperatures between -55°C and +135°C.

Which printers are they printed with?

With DYMO Rhino 4200/5200/6000/6000+, LabelManager 500TS and LabelWriter 400/450 Duo.

Do compatible tubes work with the Rhino 6000+?

No. The Rhino 6000+ only accepts original DYMO consumables. Compatible tubes work with the Rhino 4200, 5200 and 6000.

How do I choose the right diameter?

Based on the cable diameter (including insulation): the tube must cover the cable before shrinking and grip firmly afterward.

Are they flame-retardant and certified?

Yes. They are made of flame-retardant polyolefin, tested to SAE, ASTM and military standards, UL recognized and RoHS compliant.

Are they available from stock?

Yes, with fast delivery.
